Ford Galaxie 500 catches fire during Elvis Festival classic car parade

It shook things up a little, but the parade continued around

The Collingwood Elvis Festival Classic Car Parade included an unexpected hunka burnin' Ford on Saturday morning when one of the cars in the parade caught fire.

Firefighters were nearby — actually, they were part of the parade — and looped back to douse the flames and clean up any spills around the blue Galaxie 500.

There were no injuries and the parade continued around the vehicle and fire truck.

The car caught fire just south of Hume Street on Hurontario Street around 9:30 a.m.

The Classic Car Parade returned to this year's Collingwood Elvis Festival for the first time in a few years. The parade featured Elvis Tribute Artists riding in classic cars.

The parade followed Hurontario Street from Collingwood Collegiate Institute north to the Elvis Festival site.
