"I have never seen a collision scene with this magnitude. It is almost Armaggedon," said Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.
5:50 a.m. update:
OPP report Highway 400 remains closed between County Rd 88 and Hwy 89, due to a 'massive fire' involving a fuel tanker.

12:50 a.m. update:
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt reports via social media that the collision involves "multiple vehicles, including commercial vehicles" and one fatality.
At the time of writing, there is also a major fire involved that Schmidt says is "not under control."
OPP, paramedics and fire department are all on scene.
The length of the closure remains unknown and could last much of the night and possibly into the morning hours.
The OPP also updated that the distance of the closure has been extended and now spans from Innisfil Beach Road to Highway 9.

The Ontario Provincial Police advise via Twitter that Highway 400 between County Road 88 and Highway 89 south of Barrie is closed due to a motor vehicle collision.
All lanes are currently closed in both directions.
The collision happened in the northbound lanes and involved multiple vehicles.
The length of the closure is not known at this point.
