Barrie Police are investigating the discovery of a man's body on the boulevard of a home on Letitia Street.
"We received a call around 7 a.m. from a resident about an unknown male laying on the front lawn," said Sg. Michael Ross.
"We attended and it was obvious he was deceased. He's about 50 to 60 years old. Don't have any i-d at this point in time."
The Coroner attended the scene and a forensic post mortem will be conducted to determine how the man died.
"There's nothing suspicious at this time other than we don't know who he is, how he got here and how he passed," said Ross.
Forensic identification officers seized some items, took photographs and the man's fingerprints in a bid to identify him.
Detectives also attended the scene.
The nature of the investigation hinges on the outcome of the autopsy and the cause of death, Ross said.
The area will be cordoned off while the investigation continues.
