St. Joseph's Catholic High School students are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming health and wellness symposium. As part of the board’s Experiential Learning and Entrepreneurial Initiatives, students have been working to prepare for this inaugural event.

Guests will explore various health and wellness programs, initiatives, and activities that support youth in Barrie and the extended community. The students will also be vending a variety of health and wellness products. The evening will conclude with a complementary sound bathing and meditation experience.

Although the event is free of charge, cash contributions and donations will be gratefully welcomed at the door. A portion of the proceeds from the night’s event will go towards funding health and wellness activities at the school. Students will also support a scholarship for post-secondary students entering the health and wellness field.

Event organizers would like to thank their supportive community partners including Uplift Black, BANAC, Mamaway, CFS Counselling + Well-Being, New Path, Canadian Mental Health Association, The North Simcoe Muskoka Community Care Services, Bliss 2 Embodied Therapy & Yoga, Modo Yoga, Enaahtig, St. Mary's Youth Ministry, Georgian College, Yminds of YMCA, Gilbert Centre, The Metis Nation (Barrie Chapter), Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board's Student Mental Health & Well-being staff, Youth Haven and Shaks World.
