An incident that led to a 27-year-old man being charged with attempted murder this week in Bradford West Gwillimbury happened at Flex-N-Gate, a company that makes automotive parts.

“We don’t have a comment at this time. It’s still under investigation,” said a company human resources representative, when contacted by BradfordToday on Friday.

The South Simcoe Police Service was called to the Reagens Industrial Parkway factory on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a possible industrial accident.

A woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and was taken to a Toronto trauma centre, where she was listed as critical condition following surgery, police said.

The woman was attacked by another employee, and a Bradford man, whose name has not been released, was arrested early Thursday morning, police said.

A motive is not yet known for the attack, police said.

A man is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and assault with a weapon.
