Teams from the Town of Innisfil continue to respond to isolated flooding, while clearing the streets of snow and ice – making sure residents have safe roadways and paths to use as soon as possible.

Town of Innisfil Operations teams worked hard last night and early this morning to reduce flooding – while facing some challenging weather conditions. Thanks to these efforts, all flooding has been reduced on the majority of roads and sidewalks, however, there is still much work to be done.

“We just want to thank residents for their patience and cooperation this weekend,” said Mayor Lynn Dollin. “We know there are still people who are dealing with the flooding and some really challenging weather and we remain committed to getting the job done and getting things back to normal.”

Crews from the Town of Innisfil who are focused on reducing flooding are now targeting the following locations:

·         The Buchanan St. and Tall Tree Ln. area, where water is being pumped out and a road closure remains in effect;

·         Maple Rd. and 5th Line area, where water is being pumped out of the area. Water levels are coming down and this operation is expected to wrap up before the end of the day;

·         25th Sideroad and Rose Lane area, which is being closely monitored, as crews prepare to assess the response;

·         Sections of Ferrier Ave., which is being closely monitored, as crews prepare to assess the response.

The following areas have reopened:

·         7th Line from Webster Blvd. to St. Johns Rd. and;

·         6th Line from 10th Sideroad to 5th Sideroad.

In addition to the flooding effort, Town of Innisfil Operations teams have cleared all major streets of snow, ensuring that emergency vehicles have safe passage. Snow clearing efforts are now focussed on residential areas.

Residents who have questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the Town of Innisfil online at www.innisfil.ca/contactus or call 705-436-3710 as staff are monitoring digital and voicemail channels.
