Two males charged with impaired

PENETANGUISHENE – On January 2, 2015 at approximately 2:36 a.m. officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle on County Road 93 south of Penetanguishene for driving erratically.

During the vehicle stop, the officer determined that the male driver had been consuming alcohol and subsequently conducted a roadside test.

As a result of the investigation, Shane MACMILLAN (age 41) of Penetanguishene, ON is charged with:

  • Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood contrary to the Criminal code of Canada

He was also served a 90 day Automatic Driver’s Licence Suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland, Ontario on January 21, 2016.

TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle on January 1, 2016 in the afternoon in the Town of Penetanguishene, ON.

During the stop, the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and subsequently conducted a roadside test which resulted in a ‘Fail”. 

The male driver was arrested and taken to Southern Georgian Bay Detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Brant Michael MACDONALD (age 34) of Penetanguishene, ON has been charged with:

  • Driving While Ability Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

  • Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

  • Drive While Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

  • Operate Motor Vehicle no Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

The driver also had his licence suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland, Ontario on January 14, 2016.
