Heather in her 80th year, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 31st at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

She is predeceased by both of her parents, Albert and Betty Cheesman, her sister Marion Cheesman, and her sister-in-law Jean Donnelly.

Heather is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Bloomfield, her brother Robert Cheesman (Patricia), her sisters-in-law Nancy Stass (Leonard), and Mary Anne Flynn (Cliff), her brother-in-law Alfred Bloomfield (Dawn), her nephew Kent Cheesman (Jennifer), her niece Kari Lawrence (Allan) and her many other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Heather will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all her family and friends. Her infectious smile, love of laughter and importance of family are just some of the qualities that endeared her to all those that came to know her. After working for many years at General Electric in Barrie, Heather spent many more years as a sales associate at the South-End Walmart, where she enjoyed interacting with her many colleagues and customers. In her personal time, she very much looked forward to the many travel adventures that she and Don participated in over the years as well as camping, fishing and quilting time spent with family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the entire medical team at the Royal Victoria Hospital for their support throughout Heather’s medical journey and especially over the course of her last week.

Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 147 (410 St. Vincent St., Barrie). Her final resting place will be St Paul’s Innisfil Cemetery in Barrie, Ontario. A private family internment will be held at a later date.
