The OPP says residents can expect an increased police presence this weekend in Wasaga Beach.

Huronia West OPP says there will be an "increased police presence" at Wasaga Beach this weekend "as officers monitor unlawful driving behaviours and vehicles with illegal modifications."

Police advise motorists that dangerous and aggressive driving behaviours, such as speeding, racing and stunt driving, can result in charges.

"Drivers and members of the public are reminded to respect our communities, comply with all laws and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighbourhoods with risky, illegal and dangerous actions," police stated in a news release. "The safety of the public and our officers is the OPP's No. 1 priority."

Police say anyone who chooses to participate in illegal activity may be charged and their vehicle may be towed. As a result of ongoing investigative efforts, those responsible may also be charged after the fact.
