There were no serious injuries after a four-vehicle collision at the intersection of Professor Day Drive and Holland Street West, which happened in Bradford around 11:30 a.m., Saturday.
Police were told the traffic lights had been malfunctioning.
The north/south traffic light was stuck on green and the east/west traffic light stuck on red.
Vehicles on the red were treating it as a four-way stop.
A southbound vehicle on Professor Day Drive proceeded through the green light, unaware that drivers were treating east/west as a four-way stop.
That driver struck two vehicles proceeding on the red causing all three to collide with a fourth vehicle.
There were no injuries and no charges.
When police arrived on scene, the lights were functioning normally and were checked by an electric company.
The vehicles sustained substantial damage. Tow trucks cleared the scene quickly and the roads have been reopened.
