One person was rescued by firefighters and another managed to escape unharmed when an auto repair shop was set on fire in Vaughan early Monday.
When police arrived at the commercial business at Freshway Drive and Creditstone Road on March 25 at about 3 a.m., the front window of the unit was broken and the interior was on fire, according to a York Regional Police news release.
One of people inside at the time escaped, while the other was rescued by Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services, which extinguished the fire. No one was injured, according to police.
The Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating.
Video from the area shows two suspects in dark clothing ignite the fire. They flee the scene in a dark-coloured sedan with a waiting driver.
