Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported this morning, one of which has led to a second school being declared in outbreak by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.

Hillcrest Public School, located on Toronto Street near downtown Barrie, is reporting a second COVID case today, adding to the first at the school being reported on Monday.

According to the school board's communications manager, Sarah Kekewich, the school has been officially declared in outbreak by the health unit.

One classroom has been affected and is still closed.

Holy Family Catholic School in Alliston is reporting one case of COVID. One classroom is closed as a result.

All schools remain open.

The Simcoe County District School Board, the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board and the health unit have not reported whether the individuals are students or staff members.
