NEWS RELEASE
TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE
*************************
#OroMedonteStrong is about bringing the community together. During these unprecedented times, the Township of Oro-Medonte wants to share the positive stories that are happening throughout the community.

While we all practice safe physical distancing, we can show the strength and resiliency of our Township. There are neighbours that are supporting one another, local businesses who are providing essential services, and businesses that have made changes to provide innovative solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mayor Harry Hughes commented that “it is so important that right now, we stay connected as a community and support one another. We all need to practice safe physical distancing, encourage one another, and be kind. A great way to do this is by sharing positive stories about what is happening with our businesses, and in our neighbourhoods. Raise each other up, and look for opportunities to provide strength during these trying times. Oro-Medonte is strong and we look forward to the community working together.”

The Township encourages the community to get involved by sharing stories and photos. To have your story featured, please tag #OroMedonteStrong on Facebook and Twitter, or email your story to [email protected].

Please visit www.oro-medonte.ca/OroMedonteStrong for more information including: a list of businesses that are open and have adapted to requirements associated with COVID-19, how to support local businesses from a distance, and stories about community kindness - we are all in this together.

The Township encourages everyone to follow guidelines for physical distancing, hand-washing and sanitizing, social distancing, self-isolation and only leaving your homes when necessary. Stay safe!
