We are Sarah and Emily, two sisters who followed a dream to give back to our community by starting A Bradford Christmas, our nonprofit, at 14 & 15 years old. Since A Bradford Christmas’s inception, we have raised $75k+ for charities across the GTA by supporting 3 charities, hosted 70+ fundraisers, organized and operated 3 successful silent auctions that collectively raised $22k, and welcomed dozens of generous sponsors. All while partnering with local businesses to host fundraisers and help their businesses grow.
In 2019, with the help of corporate sponsors, and hosting multiple fundraisers ourselves through the community, A Bradford Christmas was able to fill over 167 festive hampers for the Helping Hand Food Bank in Bradford.
In 2020, A Bradford Christmas hosted over a dozen fundraisers including a silent auction, a toonie campaign, and partnering fundraisers to support small businesses. Our generous community came together in a BIG way, and we raised over $50K for the Bradford Helping Hand Food Bank.
In 2021, dozens of Bradford residents were devastated by an apartment fire on Holland Street. A Bradford Christmas knew we needed to do something to help. We hosted a silent auction fundraiser and ended up raising $4,872.59 for Out of The Cold Cafe, a local charity in Bradford that was helping the displaced residents.
In 2022, A Bradford Christmas partnered with a local Bradford nonprofit, Hockey for Grace, to raise funds for Emily’s House, a children’s hospice in Toronto. Together, we hosted multiple fundraisers, including a silent auction, toonie campaign, and partnerships with local businesses. We raised $14,002.72 for Emily’s House Toronto.
