A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Barrie and surrounding areas.

Flurries today with the risk of snow squalls this morning. Local blowing snow this morning. Local amount 5 to 10 cm. Wind northwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. Temperature falling to minus 4 this morning then steady.

Update: 6:15 a.m.

Weather advisory ended for:

  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Advisory still in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Innisfil - New Tecumseth - Angus
  • Shelburne - Mansfield - Northern Dufferin County

Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect for this morning.

Lake effect flurries and local snow squalls off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay this morning could result in locally reduced visibilities and poor winter driving conditions.

Snowfall amounts are expected to be somewhat limited, in the 5 to 10 cm range, due to the anticipated southward movement of the squalls through the morning.

The flurries and local snow squalls will taper off to lighter flurries late this morning and afternoon.
