Wally Parr Sausage, a chain of gourmet grocery stores with locations in Guelph, Caledonia, Burlington and Hamilton, has now added Barrie to the list.
“Our sausages are made using the tried and tested Parr family recipe and are made only from high-quality local ingredients,” said Michelle McInally, co-owner of Wally Parr Sausage Barrie.
McInally tells BarrieToday that Wally Parr's sausages are 87 per cent fat-, gluten-, filler- and preservative-free, and made with natural, premium Canadian ingredients.
“Our sausage products are only available at a Wally Parr Sausage store. They come in a variety of flavours from the ever-popular honey sausage, to mild, hot and extra hot," she said.
McInally said she and her business partner, Jessica McInally, were loyal customers of Wally Parr Sausage for many years and enjoyed the ease of preparation and flavour profile of its products.
“Having shared these products with friends and family, and getting positive feedback, we felt that a franchise would be a great way to build a business opportunity for the future," she said.
Wally Parr Sausage was established in 1969 in Haldimand County and the first Wally Parr Sausage location was opened in 2001 in Caledonia, Ont.
With ties to West Grey and Collingwood, Michelle and Jessica found that Barrie offered a strong market opportunity locally and as a prime gateway to recreational areas around Georgian Bay.
Wally Parr Sausage says it prides itself on providing busy households with options that are quick and easy to prepare for different situations.

With 200 "restaurant-quality" frozen meal options, Wally Parr Sausage says it wants to excel in bringing menu solutions to save customers’ time.

Open since June, Wally Parr Sausage Barrie is located at 241 Essa Rd., in south Barrie.
