The following letter is in response to a story titled 'Dunlop relishes ‘huge opportunity’ as new education minister,' published Aug. 19.

Don't let Dunlop flop on Ontario education.

Jill Dunlop was appointed on Friday to be Ontario's new minister of education by Premier Doug Ford. The time is now for parents, school staff and students to advocate for necessary changes in education.

Ontario’s education system is currently grappling with several critical challenges that include a teacher shortage, violence in schools, large class sizes, school repairs and inadequate special education funding.

These issues demand urgent attention from Minister Dunlop and Premier Ford. Our kids deserve it.

Please share your concerns with our new minister of education here.
