The following is in response to 'LETTER: Ford deserves some of the 'outrage' over affordability,' published Jan. 2.
I was reading the letter by Kyle Tilley about Premier Doug Ford deserving some of the accountability for the financial state that most of the common people in this province face.
The first thing I want to say is that if you want accountability, look in a mirror. He is in power because we put him there.
Voter turnout in the last provincial election was the worst it has ever been. It actually broke a record for poor voter turnout. If you want to change the government, vote.
Secondly, stop being surprised when any conservative government, regardless of where it is, does something awful. They always telegraph that they are going to do something awful, and then do it.
Everyone thinks Pierre Poilievre will come into office and save the working man. He will not. His priorities are not with rank-and-file working Canadians. He has all kinds of catchy phrases, but at the end of the day, he is going to serve his base, the rich, the wealthy and the corporations that line his election coffers.
Quite literally, the way Ontario is right now is the responsibility of Ontario voters, and they bear that responsibility alone.
You can blame Doug Ford all you like, but he has always been Doug Ford.
