The Gilbert Centre invites you to A Day With Art, a meaningful celebration of creativity, resilience and community in honour of World AIDS Day.

Join us on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at Creative Nomad Studios in Orillia for an evening of inspiring art and connection. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the event concluding at 9 p.m.

This free event will showcase the incredible talents of artists from our community, including those with lived experiences of HIV, HCV, queer and trans identities, and individuals who use our services. These works reflect stories of resilience, courage, and the beauty of self-expression, shining a light on the strength and diversity of our community.

Adding to the evening’s vibrancy is special guest Rosacea Cheeks, a celebrated drag fashion designer, who will display some of her stunning creations, merging art, advocacy, and glamour.

Guests can enjoy complimentary appetizers in a welcoming space designed to foster dialogue, understanding, and connection.

Advance registration is encouraged to assist with planning, but everyone is welcome, even without pre-registration.

Dale Boyle, executive director of the Gilbert Centre, shares: “Art has the power to break down barriers, challenge stigma, and spark meaningful conversations in ways that words alone cannot. A Day With Art honours the stories and experiences of individuals across our community, creating a space for education, solidarity, and celebration. This World AIDS Day, we reaffirm our commitment to addressing HIV-related stigma and celebrating the strength and resilience of people living with HIV.”
