A local tour by country music performing artist Roger Harvey will be strumming up support for area youth centres.

Roger Harvey will be headlining three events supporting the Orillia and Collingwood Youth Centres this weekend.

In Collingwood, Harvey will be on stage outside in the beer garden at Collingwood Brewery, and he'll be joined by Lola Eden, a local youth with a budding music career.

Eden has lived in Collingwood for more than seven years. She started with a ukulele in Grade 5 and has recently picked up the guitar.

"I feel most myself when I'm singing and playing the guitar," said Eden in a news release. Growing up in a musical household, she said, has shaped her perspective of the world and what she values.

She will be on the Collingwood Brewery outdoor stage on July 2 for the all-ages event. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. Vegan Co. food truck will be on site.

Harvey's music career spans two decades.

"Music has always held a certain kind of magic to me," he said in a news release. "Those rare moments have made the struggles that come along with a life trying to make my way here seem somehow all worthwhile."

Harvey will be performing two shows in Orillia before the Collingwood event.

On June 30, he will be at the Eclectic Cafe for dinner and a show with special guest Sammy. Tickets are available in advance and at the door.

On July 1, he will be at BrightView Farms for FarmFest in Sebright with guests Kayla Mohammed and Alex the Band.

Proceeds from the Collingwood concert will go to the Collingwood Youth Centre, and the other two events are in support of the Orillia Youth Centre's Nelson Bell and Jake Beers Bursaries, the Jake Beers Mental Health and Creative Fund, and the Valis Sound Studio.

Tickets will be available at the door, or they can be purchased in advance at orilliayouthcentre.ticketleap.com.
