The fall festivities continue in Downtown Barrie as the community gears up for a thrilling celebration of Halloween and the vibrant traditions of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).

On Saturday, Oct. 26, Downtown Barrie will transform into a hub of creative costumes, lively music, and cultural experiences during the Open Air Meridian Halloween and Ofrenda event.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Meridian Place will come alive with family-friendly activities, music, and a blend of Halloween fun and Mexican cultural traditions. Get your costumes ready for an exciting day featuring costume contests for both people and pets, as well as interactive art activities that celebrate the festive spirit of Día de los Muertos.

Local craft vendors will be on hand, offering unique products and seasonal items, perfect for early holiday shopping.

“This year, we're blending the fun of Halloween with the rich cultural heritage of Día de los Muertos,” says Chris Gerrard, business owner and director on the Downtown Barrie BIA. “We invite everyone to dress up, get creative, and enjoy a day filled with music, art, and celebration.”
