Innisfil's Beach Road Market lands in new location this weekend

Bronze Fox Interiors will be among dozens of vendors, artisans, creators, and small-business owners filling Alcona's Town Square on Saturday

The Beach Road Market takes flight to its new location at the Innisfil Town Square this Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Nearly 50 vendors from Simcoe County are participating, including those selling decor, apparel, food, art and other goods from their origins of Africa, Colombia, Venezuela, and Mexico, just to name a few,” Beach Road Market announced in a recent news release.

Inspired by the markets in Paris, complete with coffee, French pastries, a café and an espresso truck, along with a portrait sketch artist, this Saturday’s market has been organized to instill a “sense of pride for Innisfil tourism while celebrating cultures from around the world.”

Kelsey Aman, who is the founder and organizer of the Beach Roach Market, shared a formative memory from her life which serves as motivation for the event.

“When I was 14, I had my portrait drawn at an art market in Paris and I'll never forget it. I still have the sketch! Our July event seeks to capture similar moments locally and maybe along the way we can inspire similar memories for all those who attend,” she said.

Town Square in Alcona is the "ideal location" for local foot traffic and its proximity to the beach, she added. It's also the "perfect backdrop for an artisan market offering added amenities including an amphitheatre, splash pad and playground."

Bronze Fox Interiors will be among the vendors, artisans, creators, and small-business owners who will fill the Town Square.

Founded by Kristina Giammattolo, Bronze Fox Interiors offers an array of pieces including art, jewelry, florals, and restored furniture, in addition to services such as design consulting and event planning.

“Bronze Fox is eclectic at heart,” Giammattolo said. “I take inspiration from all different types of places. I believe beauty can be anywhere, you just need to know how to find it.

"My mission is to give new life to items that were once loved and bring out their true beauty in new forms," she added. "All of my pieces are unique and handmade with elements from nature and repurposed items.”

Giammattolo says it's a long-running passion project for her, beginning in July 2022.

“I decided to take the full jump and just start," she said. "I realized there is no better time than now to begin working towards your dreams. ”

Giammattolo explained that since every piece is unique, it’s hard to name Bronze Fox Interiors’ best-selling item.

“Most people love the crystal mobiles because they emit such beautiful prisms in the sunlight. They radiate happy energy which draws people to their beauty," she said.

With a degree in interior design, Giammattolo combined her creativity with her extensive experience working in floral design, event planning and interior decorating.

“Bronze Fox is a service-based company at its core,” she said.

”My goal is to be environmentally friendly by upcycling materials that have so much life left in them such as an old piece of driftwood, a broken-down chandelier, washed-up shells, recycled bits of copper, and old sterling silverware, to name a few,” Giammattolo explained.

Bronze Fox Interiors is named after a piece of art featuring a fox that Giammattolo stippled as a child; the piece won an award at her school’s art contest.

“As I got older and went into an interior design program at Fanshawe, I kept thinking about that picture," Giammattolo told InnisfilToday. "It was my favourite achievement in art so far. So, I decided that Bronze Fox Interiors would be a great name for a business if I (chose) that path.

"After graduating college, I knew Bronze Fox Interiors would materialize eventually, I just didn’t know when. Like I said before, beauty is everywhere — you just need to know where to find it," she added.

With poetry and spoken-word readings, dance and live music, face-painting, crafts, and lawn games, the beauty of Innisfil will be on full display this weekend.
