BarrieFolk is excited to host Valdy, one of Canada’s finest singer-songwriters, on Sunday, Nov. 10.

Folk legend Valdy has 16 albums, 22 singles and four gold records. He has won two Juno awards and is one of the country’s purest and most credible storytellers.

Valdy has toured Canada close to 50 years, and plays regularly in New Zealand with Kiwi mate Graham Wardrop. He has also toured Austria, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland, and was an oft-invited performer at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas. He was invested as a member of the Order of Canada in 2012.

He’s a master of country, folk, rock and blues, and his shows are a disarming and practical blend of respect for the audience and show business.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and takes place at Burton Avenue United Church (37 Burton Ave., Barrie). Tickets are $30 (plus $3.64 surcharge); $35 at the door (cash only). Tickets can be purchased at www.barriefolk.com. Doors open at 7 p.m.
