On Wednesday, Nov. 20, students from nine elementary schools will perform as part of the newly formed Barrie Youth Honour Choir, along with the choirs of Bear Creek Secondary School and Eastview Secondary School.

The choirs will perform three shows – two for Grade 8 students from the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB), and one for family, friends and community members.

Members of the SCDSB community are invited to enjoy the concert at 7 p.m. at the Collier Street United Church.

The Barrie Youth Honour Choir was formed under the direction of Rachael Clark, choral director at Bear Creek Secondary School, and Dave Stewart, choral director at Eastview Secondary School.

The choir consists of about 35 Grade 6 to 8 students from Codrington Public School, East Oro Public School, Ernest Cumberland Elementary School, Guthrie Public School, Holly Meadows Elementary School, Shanty Bay Public School, Terry Fox Elementary School, Trillium Woods Elementary School, and W.C. Little Elementary School.

In mid-November, the members of the Barrie Youth Honour Choir will participate in a vocal music retreat to get to know each other, rehearse choral music and prepare for the concert.

Tickets for the evening performance will be available at the door for $10 each.

Collier Street United Church is located at 112 Collier St., in Barrie.
