The holiday season is just around the corner, and Downtown Barrie is getting ready to kick off the most magical time of the year!
Mark your calendars for Nov. 16 and 17, 2024, as the Noella Tree Lighting Celebration returns to transform the heart of Barrie into a winter wonderland.
In partnership with the Barrie Chamber of Commerce Santa Claus Parade and the Rotary Club's Festival of Trees, this beloved annual event is a must-see for families and friends as they gather to welcome the festive season.
On these special days, tens of thousands of visitors will flock to Meridian Place, Downtown Barrie and the waterfront to enjoy a full schedule of holiday cheer.
The celebration will include:
- Live music: Festive tunes from local performers to get everyone in the holiday spirit, including a soon-to-be-announced headliner!
- Horse-drawn wagon rides: Enjoy a charming ride through the beautifully decorated downtown streets.
- Art activities: Fun and creative activities for the whole family.
- Christmas tree lot: Pick out the perfect tree from a Christmas tree lot supporting Hospice Simcoe.
- Holiday crafters: Browse handmade holiday gifts and decorations at the artisan market.
One of the most exciting highlights is the lighting of the stunning 30-foot Winter Tree at Meridian Place, a moment made even more magical with the help of Santa Claus himself. And, of course, no Noella Tree Lighting Celebration would be complete without a breathtaking fireworks display to light up the night sky and usher in the festive season.
In addition, the Rotary Club of Barrie will continue its tradition of decorating the trees throughout Heritage Park and Meridian Place, creating a sparkling holiday atmosphere that will bring joy to all who visit.
