BRADFORD - On Tuesday, August 30, 2016, around 3:00 a.m., South Simcoe Police were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Disette Street in Bradford.

A vehicle approached the spot check and made an immediate u-turn. The driver led the officers on a short pursuit through nearby residential areas, turning off his headlights to avoid detection.

As he went through a stop sign at a high rate of speed, he narrowly avoided colliding with another car.

The suspect then pulled over, and officers were able to apprehend the occupants. Two Bradford teens were investigated, and the owner of the car contacted.

As a result, a 14-year-old youth has been charged with Dangerous Driving, Flight From Police and Drive Motor Vehicle-No Licence. He will appear in court in September.
