"End this nightmare"

Barrie Police are seeking the public's help in finding missing Barrie woman Ashley Hill. Handout photos.

Ashley Hill's mother is frantic to know that her daughter is okay.

The Barrie woman has been missing since late August and her mother Beverly Gifford says it's been a nightmare.

"The fact that she hasn't reached out and she has a young son who I know she is probably missing terribly," said Gifford, breaking down in tears. "It's just heart wrenching."

Hill's son has turned four since she vanished and Hill has since turned 27.

Her son also started school and asks about his mommy.

"And I don't have any answers for him," said Hill's distraught mom. "This is so bizarre. It's the worst nightmare ever and I just wish it would end. I just want her to contact her mom and no matter what is going on in her life I'm here and I will help her."

Barrie Police issued a missing person alert and are asking the public to help find Hill.

Not only has Hill left behind her son and worried family, Gifford says Hill also abandoned a fully furnished apartment.

"Its not like her to walk away from her whole life. Nothing's adding up," she said. "I don't know what to make of it. I'm just so so scared."

Police feel the circumstances behind Hill's absence are "concerning" and are worried about her well-being.

She is described as white, 5'3" and has a labret piercing under her lip on the left side.

Police say Hill's appearance has changed drastically in the past six months.

She was last seen with red-coloured hair and a thin build due to rapid weight loss.

"I'd really appreciate her to get in touch with her family because this has been a long hard journey and a nightmare we want to end," begged Gifford.

Anyone with information on Hill's whereabouts is asked to please contact DC A Geertsma from the Barrie Police Service at 705-725-7025, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, leave an anonymous tip online at www.tipsubmit.com.
