On Monday, January 4, 2016, just after midnight, South Simcoe Police were called for a break and enter in progress at a business authorized by Health Canada to produce medicinal marijuana.

An employee inside the building was monitoring security cameras when he spotted five suspects actively attempting to break into the building.

The employee's presence scared the suspects off, but his excellent description of the getaway vehicle led responding officers to arrest them nearby.

Five men have been charged with break and enter, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of break-in tools and disguise with intent.

The accused men were held in custody for a bail hearing in Barrie today.

Charged are:

- Joshua SCHARB, 37 years old of Barrie, On
- Daryl VERNER, 33 years old of Shelburne, ON
- Kyle HRISTOVSKI, 29 years old of North Bay, ON
- William LACKAY, 31 years old of Jarratt, ON
- Richard CARVER, 32 years old of Barrie ON.

Carver was also charged with possession of a weapon while prohibited.

South Simcoe Police will not be releasing the location of the incident.
