On Friday, Dec. 6, 25 remarkable community members from Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte were honoured with the King Charles III Coronation Medal, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the community, the region, and Canada at large.
The ceremony was attended by family members and friends who gathered to celebrate the exceptional achievements of each of the recipients.
MP Doug Shipley and MPP Doug Downey presented the medals to each recipient, acknowledging their dedication to improving the lives of others through volunteer work, leadership and community service.
“Today, we are celebrating individuals who go above and beyond to make our country a better place,” said Shipley. “These recipients have not only contributed to their communities, but they have done so with unwavering dedication, passion, and a commitment to creating positive change. I am proud to be able to recognize their outstanding achievements.”
Downey praised the honorees for their dedication to public service.
“This award allows us to acknowledge the incredible work these recipients do throughout the community,” said MPP Doug Downey. “The contributions that these individuals have made has left a positive impact across our communities. I am grateful to be able to honour and celebrate their achievements in such a meaningful way.”
The event concluded with a reception, where guests and honourees came together to celebrate the achievements of the recipients and reflect on their shared commitment to building a stronger, more connected community, region and country.
