more snow

ENVIRONMENT CANADA

WEATHER ALERT

*************************

Snow squall warning in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake

Local snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm can be expected tonight.

The snow squall is currently near Wasaga Beach extending eastward towards Horseshoe Valley.

The snow squall will begin to weaken near midnight.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.

Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
