The Barrie Chamber of Commerce hosted its sixth annual Women in Business Awards Gala today (March 2) at Liberty North.
Local dignitaries — including Mayor Alex Nuttall, Barrie-Innisfil MPP Andrea Khanjin, and MPs John Brassard (Barrie-Innisfil) and Doug Shipley (Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte) — and businesses "came out in force" to celebrate women in the Barrie business community.
Organizers say the awards are intended to acknowledge a set of values that recognizes social responsibility, entrepreneurial spirit, risk-taking, ideas, and innovation in the community.
