Canadian Forces Base Borden celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2016, including the great successes of the Centennial Ball, Air Show, and Memorial Wall unveiling.
In 2017, more significant events will be commemorated including the Centennial Anniversary of Vimy Ridge, Canada 150, and the centennial anniversary of military aviation in Canada, hosted by 16 Wing.
Since 1916, Camp Borden continues to be a significant part of Simcoe County including Barrie, Angus, Alliston, and Wasaga Beach, and is the largest employer in the region with over 3,500 Permanent employees (2150 Military and 1450 Civilian).
By extension, over 10,000 Defense Team family members reside in the Greater Borden area remaining actively engaged in the community, as citizens, volunteers, and economic contributors.
Over 20 units and schools call Base Borden home, and deliver over a half-million training days to approximately 19,000 students who rotate through CFB Borden every year.
At any time, there are approximately 2,500 incremental staff and students training at Base Borden, who visit our community regularly and contribute to the economy through purchases, hospitality, entertainment, and fitness activities.
Base Borden is committed to continue to grow the positive relationship with our community. One way of promoting awareness and interaction is to provide opportunities to extend the reach of your businesses through advertising and event sponsorships directly to our team.
