Baycats enter the playoffs on a 13-game win streak

LONDON – The Barrie Baycats will enter the playoffs on a 13-game win streak after a 6-4 win over the London Majors Sunday night at Labatt Park.
Starlin Rodriguez had two hits and three RBI in the victory. His two-run single in the top of the eighth broke a 4-4 tie. Jordan Castaldo doubled twice, Kevin Atkinson singled twice and had an RBI, Jeff Cowan drove in a run and scored, while Steve Lewis, Glenn Jackson and Brandon Dhue all scored a run.
Adam Hawes (3-1) earned the win, allowing a run on two hits with two walks and a strikeout over two innings. Chris Nagorski threw two scoreless innings with three strikeouts for his sixth save.
Santos Arias started and went five innings, giving up three runs on seven hits with two strikeouts.
The Baycats open the playoffs against the No. 8 Burlington Herd Thursday at home.
For London, Cleveland Brownlee had two hits, two RBI and a run, RJ Fuhr singled twice and had two stolen bases, Chris McQueen, Byron Reichstein and Robert Doyle each had a hit and a run,
Mike DeLong (0-1) took the loss, giving up three runs in the eighth without recording an out. He walked all three batters he faced.
Starter Marcus Muir-McEachran went 4.2 innings and gave up three runs on five hits with two walks and a strikeout.
Third-place London (20-16) will face Hamilton to open the playoffs.
