Dark skies, dampness and drizzle did not sombre energy at the Belle Ewart legion Sunday morning as they carried out their Remembrance Day services.
The crowd of close to 100 watched and participated in the event, prior to the regular 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month ceremony.
Branch 547 Innisfil in Belle Ewart made sure all the young people on hand from community and service groups were part of the wreath laying activities.
Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Navy League Cadets paraded up to the Cenotaph to assist the dignitaries in the laying of the wreathes.
Wreaths were laid in honour of Navy League #24 Chambly, WWII Veterans, Innisfil Masonic Lodge, Scouts Canada, Innisfil Police, Innisfil Fire Department, Afghanistan Veterans, Canadian Forces, Legion Branch 547 and the Town of Innisfil.
Hot coffee inside the hall helped warm the spirits of those who stayed for conversion and fellowship.
Early Remembrance services were also held in Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
