Barrie Police have charged two drivers in connection with a road rage incident in Barrie's south east end.

The incident happened on Mapleview Drive East and Country Lane around 11 a.m. on Dec. 27.

"There was a road rage incident between two vehicles," said Const. Nicole Rodgers. "The caller reported that a hand gun was pointed at him."

The complainant waited for police after he said he allowed the other vehicle to continue on Mapleview towards Welham Road.

Rodgers says the caller was able to gather enough information to allow police to locate the second vehicle at 3:50 p.m. that same day at the Tanger Outlets in Cookstown.

After interviewing all those involved, a 26-year-old Kincardine male was charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

A warrant was executed on a vehicle and a .177 BB gun believed to be used in the incident was seized by police.

During the investigation police were able to obtain dash camera footage of the incident which provided evidence that led to the original complainant facing charges as well.

On Thursday, Dec. 29 a 48-year-old Barrie male was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
