TORONTO – Mario Gurango of Barrie is $100,000 richer after winning the top prize with Instant Wild Card (Game #2268).

Mario, a 74-year-old grandfather, said he played this ticket on a whim.

“I randomly chose this ticket instead of purchasing my usual Instant Crossword,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “When I played my ticket, I realized I won on the first line and was shocked and thought is this a joke or what?”

Mario said he had a friend double check his ticket using the OLG App. “She confirmed it and said ‘Yes, you’re a winner!’ It’s unbelievable, I couldn’t sleep that night. I was so excited!”

He plans to share his win with his children, pay some bills and save some for travel.
