November has already started on the warm side and Environment Canada says it's expected to remain warmer than normal into about mid-month.

After that, it will be time to bundle up as temperatures are expected to return to more seasonal values.

"The normal high for this time of year is 9 and the normal low is 2," said Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson. "By the end of November, the normal high is 2 and the normal low is -4."

For the month of October, the average temperature in the Barrie area was 10.8 degrees.

The long-term, average temperature for October is 8.7 degrees so October continued the trend that began in the late summer for temperatures to be notably warmer than normal.

"This was the warmest October in Barrie since 2007," said Coulson. "No single day temperature records were set during the month."

The warmest temperature recorded was 24.5 degrees on Oct. 18 and the coldest temperature  was -2.5 degrees on Oct. 26.

Barrie received 78.6 mm of rain in October and the long-term average rainfall for the month is 73.7 mm, so Coulson says it was pretty close to normal.
