Visitors to Barrie’s waterfront will soon be able to slip, slide and dive their way into summer as the biggest outdoor water park in Canada is about to open for another summer in Barrie.
Splash-On WiBit Water Park, described as a giant floating playground, is scheduled to open today (June 28) at Centennial Beach, and has reportedly grown in both size and popularity since it first opened in 2017 and each year has grown in size and popularity.
The layout is changed each year and new equipment added in order to bring visitors a brand new experience every summer.
"We haven't gotten much bigger length or width wise (but) we've filled in a whole lot," said Ajete Eggers, one of the managers of the Barrie location. "We are in the business of selling fun, so we want to make sure we switch things up ... it's bigger and better this year."
Eggers says it's a great way for people to make fun memories this summer.
"There's nowhere better you can go. You've got all the staff who are here having fun with you, and we are all trying to just make really great memories for everyone."
Capacity is set at a maximum of 350 guests and the fun is available for anyone aged five and up — with children up to the age of eight requiring an adult chaperone. Life-jackets are required and are provided at the park or guests can bring their own.
Tickets begin at $25 and include two full hours of fun.
A second Splash On water park, located at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park on Lake Couchiching in Orillia, is scheduled to open June 29.
