Car shows wrapping up the season this month

Classic and antique vehicles will be on display to raise funds for charity.

Every Thursday during the summer months, the Innisfil Beach Cruisers Car Club holds a Show ‘n Shine for its members and guests at Innisfil Beach Park.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Simcoe, in downtown Alcona, the park provides the perfect backdrop – green grass, blue water – for the antique, classic, custom and muscle cars, trucks and motorcycles on display.

There is always a DJ on hand, playing golden oldies and today’s top 40 hits, and plenty of automotive enthusiasts who drop by to chat and admire.

The Innisfil Beach Cruisers wrap up the season with a grand finale car show that is also a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Innisfil, and the Innisfil Food Bank.

This year, the club’s season finale will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Toronto North Cookstown KOA Campground in Innisfil (Hwy. 89 and 400), from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain Date is Sept. 22.

Show vehicle admission is $5; spectator admission is free – although donations of cash or non-perishable food items for the food bank are welcomed.

The event will include vendors, food, live music with Elvis tribute artist Terry Chisholm, and trophies for the top vehicle entries. Town Crier Steve Travers will open the show.

There will also be a special guest: visitors are invited to meet Batman and the Batmobile.
