What will Barrie look like in the future?

With the city moving along with its Official Plan update, the results are in from the second phase of community engagement at BuildingBarrie.ca.

The project team has posted the results to the website following months of hearing what residents have to say.

"Thank you to everyone who shared their valuable insights, concerns, and ideas about the future of Barrie," the project team says in a web post. "The project team will use this information to help shape the direction of the Official Plan and begin drafting new policies."

The project team will be attending the final Hot Summer Nights event tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Batteaux Park, located at 443 Mapleton Ave., in the city's south end. They are encouraging residents to stop by for some free lemonade and check out historic pictures of Barrie.

City staff involved with the project will also be at Centennial Beach on Friday from 1-3 p.m.
