NEWS RELEASE
BARRIE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
*****************************
The Barrie Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the finalists (listed alphabetically by last name) for the 2020 Women in Business Awards, presented by BMO Bank of Montreal with support from Grant Thornton.
The award recipients will be announced at the Women in Business Awards Luncheon event on Thursday, March 5, 2020, one of the region's most popular International Women’s Day celebrations.
This year's keynote speaker will be Jamie McMillan, a Journeyman Ironworker / Boilermaker and founder of KickAss Careers. Jamie became an ironworker in 2002 when women only represented 2 per cent of the workforce across Canada and the United States. She thoroughly understands the stereotypes and struggles that women face in male-dominated occupations, and she is determined to equal the playing field.
