Collision leads to impaired charges

TINY TOWNSHIP – On Wednesday June 15, 2016 at approximately 5:57 p.m. members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of motor vehicle collision on Saw Log road in Tiny Township. 

A motor vehicle had struck some rocks and a hydro pole. A retired police officer was in the area and responded to the collision to render assistance.

The male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for impaired driving.

The male driver was then turned over to Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers and the investigation was continued. The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

Nicholas P. Moss (age 53) from Tiny Township, ON has been charged with:

  • Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

  • Driving while ability impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on June 30, 2016 in Midland, ON.
