TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH – On January 7, 2016 at approximately 3:40 a.m. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 89 west of Cookstown, ON.
A passerby stopped to check on the well-being of four male parties, and offered his vehicle for one of the passengers complaining of neck pain.
A second male then jumped into the passerby’s vehicle and takes off from the scene.
Further investigation revealed the motor vehicle involved in the collision was stolen out of Barrie but not yet reported.
Both males were located at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie eventually arrested.
The second stolen vehicle was located in the City of Barrie
Charged is 26-year-old Timothy LEEMING of Barrie, ON with; Theft of Vehicle, Drive Disqualified and Breach of Probation..
Further charged is 27-year-old Michael HARRISON of Barrie, ON with two counts Theft of Motor Vehicle and Drive under Suspension.
One of the passengers was transported to a Toronto area hospital with non-life threatening injuries
Both Males will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 10 2016, Bradford Ontario to answer to their charges.
