Barrie's Mayor says a Diverging Diamond Interchange or DDI could be the solution to reduce congestion at Mapleview and Highway 400.
According to a video Mayor Lehman tweeted, a DDI is a proven, innovative design that can increase safety and improve traffic flow.
The first one was built in Missouri in 2009.
Since then there have been over 60 more constructed throughout U.S.
