Downtown Barrie is excited and getting ready to celebrate the arrival of 2025 at the City of Barrie’s annual Downtown Countdown.
This free, family-friendly event will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at city hall, featuring live music, festive activities, and two spectacular fireworks displays.
A night of fun for all ages:
- Family fun: Enjoy live music with the energetic Sonshine and Broccoli, perfect for young revellers.
- Country music magic: Dance to the infectious sounds of country headliner Madeline Merlo.
- Local talent: Experience the unique sounds of The Redhill Valleys and local artist Kyle Wauchope.
- Winter wonderland: Enjoy ice skating, explore food truck fare, and participate in exciting family activities.
- Spectacular fireworks: Two dazzling fireworks displays will light up the night sky — one at 8 p.m. for the little ones and another at midnight to welcome the new year.
- Pre-event social: Make a reservation at one of the many downtown restaurants for some family and friends social time to reminisce about 2024 and get excited about 2025.
Free transportation:
Barrie Transit will be offering free service starting at 5 p.m., with extended service hours until 3 a.m., ensuring safe and convenient transportation for all attendees.
Free parking makes it easy:
- Enjoy two hours of free on-street daytime parking throughout December.
- Parking is always free after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all weekends.
