An area attraction has once again been chosen as one of Ontario’s favourites.
Attractions Ontario has announced the winners of its annual people’s choice awards, and the Eco Adventure Tour at Scenic Caves has been picked as Top Touring Experience for the second year in a row.
“We’re very excited to be recognized again this year,” said Linda Service, vice-president of marketing and business development for Scenic Caves Nature Adventures. “It helps set us apart from other high-ropes experiences around.”
The winners are chosen by consumer votes.
The Eco Adventure Tour first opened in 2004, and is a three-hour guided tour that includes tree-top trekking, zip lines, and the suspension bridge.
Two guides take small groups on the tour, and present information about local Indigenous history, the physical attributes of the UNESCO biosphere that Scenic Caves is part of, and local history such as shipbuilding.
“It’s an intimate and quite a mixed experience,” said Service.
Other Ontario Choice awards included Skyzone Toronto for the Top Family Entertainment Centre; African Lion Safari for Top Outdoor Attraction; and Ripley’s Aquarium for Top Indoor Attraction.
Attractions Ontario is a non-profit association with member attractions dedicated to the tourism industry including more than 500 public and privately owned attractions from amusement parks to historical sites.
