Empower Simcoe’s Celebrating Community Champions Fashion Show makes its return to the runway on Nov. 2 at the Masonic Lodge in Barrie.

Back as a live event after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Celebrating Community Champions Fashion Show features the people and families supported by Empower Simcoe modelling the latest fashions from participating area clothiers like Old Navy, Moores, Lilie’s Boutique at Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery, and Penningtons. Proceeds from the evening benefit Empower Simcoe programs by helping purchase needed accessibility equipment, respite care, specialized housing needs and adult and youth skills development.

“This special evening of fashion, food and fun celebrates the personal achievements and community service of the people and families we support,” says Dr. Claudine Cousins, Empower Simcoe CEO. “All of our Empower Simcoe models have made a unique contribution to improving the lives of others, and for this reason we celebrate them as true community champions.”

Empower Simcoe models will be escorted by some of the Barrie firefighters on the runway, as well as Barrie’s town crier, Steve Travers, Barrie-Innisfil MPP Andrea Khanjin, and some of the celebrity wrestlers from the Barrie Wrestling Club. Matt and Tara from 93.1 Fresh FM are back as hosts of the evening, which starts at 7 p.m. on Nov. 2.

Tickets for the 2022 Empower Simcoe Celebrating Community Champions Fashion Show can be purchased online at empowersimcoe.ca, or at Empower Simcoe at 39 Fraser Ct., Barrie, and 35 West St. N., Orillia.
