NEWS RELEASE
BARRIE AND DISTRICT CHRISTMAS CHEER

Barrie and District Christmas Cheer elects Stephane Quenneville as their latest president, a role he’s no stranger to.
Stepping into the role for a second time, Quenneville served as the organization’s president from 2015 to 2016 and has since held multiple board positions within the charity.
Quenneville has been acting as the toy chair since 2020, a role that ensures that nearly 2,000 children of Barrie, Innisfil, Angus, Oro-Medonte, and the surrounding area receive gifts to unwrap on Christmas morning.
“There’s no better feeling than seeing the look on a parent’s face when you hand them a giant bag of toys for each of their kids. They’re almost in disbelief, and it has nothing to do with us. It’s all the generosity of this amazing community,” said Quenneville.
Quenneville’s involvement with Barrie and District Christmas Cheer dates back nearly 10 years, and as a father of four children himself, he understands a parent’s commitment to wanting to provide the best for their family.
Quenneville along with the rest of the Christmas Cheer board has already begun thinking about the 2022 campaign and plans on returning to its original program of accepting food and toy donations from the public to fill food and toy hampers.
Having a lofty fundraising goal of raising $250,000 to complete their campaign in 2022, the community can feel confident with Quenneville leading the charge that more than 1,800 families in the community will successfully have a Christmas to remember.
Barrie and District Christmas Cheer accepts financial donations year-round. For more information about Barrie and District Christmas Cheer, visit their website: www.ChristmasCheerBarrie.com.
