The Barrie Baycats put some more distance between themselves and Kitchener for first place with an 11-4 win over the Panthers Thursday night at Coates Stadium. 

Barrie (25-8), which has now won 11 straight, leads Kitchener by two games heading into the final weekend of the regular season. The Baycats have three games remaining and need one win or a Kitchener loss to clinch top seed heading into playoffs next week. 

Ryan Spataro went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the win. Kyle DeGrace had three hits, two RBI and a run, Kevin Atkinson had two hits, three runs and an RBI, Jordan Castaldo singled, doubled and scored twice, Jeff Cowan went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run, while Carson Burns and Glenn Jackson had an RBI apiece. 

Frank Garces (7-0) picked up the win, striking out six over seven innings. He yielded a run on two hits. 

Zach Johnson led the Panthers (24-11) with two hits, including his second home run, two RBI and two runs. Adam Leader drove in a run and scored once, Mike Andrulis had two hits and an RBI, and Yorbis Borroto singled and doubled. 

Noelvis Entenza (5-1) took the loss, allowing eight runs on 11 hits with three walks and two strikeouts over four innings.
