Environment Canada has issued a fog advisory for parts of Ontario, including our region.
The advisory was initially issued this morning and has now been extended with heavy fog expected to be an issue into Friday morning.
There is a risk of significantly reduced visibility as a result of the fog. The fog is expected to dissipate some this afternoon for some areas before conditions deteriorate again this evening.

Fog advisory in effect for:
- Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
- Dufferin - Innisfil
- Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County
- Halton Hills - Milton
- Niagara
- Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region
Persistent patchy fog with visibility near zero continues.
Visibility may improve for some areas this afternoon, however, conditions are expected to deteriorate again this evening.
This patchy fog will dissipate through Friday morning.
Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
